ACTING OUT!    Intro to Musical Theatre for ages 6-9

  • 2 hr Classes   
  • 12 weeks, (15 classes)            
  • TUITION: $130. per month  TOTAL:  $390. 
  • SHOW TBA PLUS:  Additional rehearsals for leads, and during our dress/tech week.

Group warm-up/lesson in voice ,  acting technique and theatre terminology basics, introducing the young student to the stage.  Students   learn through playing fun theatre games, doing improv, and rehearsal direction.  Students will perform in a fully staged and costumed show.    Click to Register

MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP for ages  10-17 yrs.                                                                                                                                                                                              SHOWS IN CONSIDERATION:  In the Woods, Addams Family, Fiddler on the Roof, Jr.

Show will be chosen based upon our cast enrollment    

  • Classes/rehearsals begin February 1st 
  • 3 hours per week
  • Monday & Tuesday Afternoons 
  • Performances in May   
  •  Tuition: $470.  (including vocal/acting/dance classes and work with our choreographer) 
  • There will be additional hours for coaching with leads.  

 Incorporating into rehearsals: theatre games and improv to teach acting skills, focus, relaxation on stage, characterization.  Group lessons in voice, diction, and movement. Culminates in fully-staged, costumed show.     

BROADWAY BABIES Mommy & me for ages 1-3 yrs

The goal of our Broadway  Babies’ classes is to entertain, educate, and expose children (and adults!) to the magic of Broadway.  By giving babies a small tasting of this genre of music, we hope to create the next generation of musical theatre goers, and  maybe even performers! This class is a sing-a-long, using some age-appropriate instruments, with some movement, as well.

APPLAUSE! A Taste of Musical Theatre

  • Ages 4-5
  • 12 weeks

For children who are not yet fluent readers, this fun workshop includes lots of theatre games, bringing stories, nursery rhymes and fairy tales to life through acting, imagination, and puppetry. They will experiment with characters, moods, creative, improvised dancing to show tunes, and will learn very simple choreography and age-appropriate Broadway musical ensemble numbers. The children love to dress-up and act silly, and will learn to work together in an ensemble. At the conclusion of the session, the class will perform in a mini-revue of songs from favorite Broadway shows, such as “Peter Pan”, “Sound of Music”, and “Annie”.   

GOT DRAMA?     Drama, Comedy & Acting Skills    AGES: 8-12

Following a series of warm-up exercises, theatre games, and improv, the class will read through scenes and one-act plays, learning through their direction. The class will explore script-reading, monologue-writing, acting skills, focus, communication, and theatre terminology.  The class will culminate in a presentation of their scenes.

Audition and Monologue Workshop (class limited to 12 students)

This one-day, intensive workshop is held annually, in December or January.

$95 per student

(Please bring a prepared, preferably memorized monologue!) This comprehensive workshop is geared towards all types of acting auditions, including those for BAK and Dreyfoos.  We can never guarantee admission, however, this workshop will give you the tools which you will need when coming to an audition, including, but not limited to: how to address the director/ judges, how to improve your focus, characterization, and stage presence.  You will present your monologue in a “mock” audition, before the class, and Mrs. Blanchette will offer you coaching and suggestions,  preparing you for what the directors or judges might ask of you.
